Located in Nanaimo, British Columbia since 1979, Stones Marine Centre boasts one of Vancouver Island’s largest full service amenity marinas, offering protected moorage for over 300 boats, multiple dining options, marine supply centre, fuel dock, charters for cruising, fishing and diving, outdoor activity offerings, and a fully serviced boatyard featuring an 83 ton travelift for haulout and marine repairs.
The facility is only a “Stones” throw from the spectacular 700 acre island Saysutshun (SAY-sut-shun) Park, a BC Provincial park rated one of the best marine nature parks in the Pacific Northwest. Heading south, it’s also only a fifteen minute walk along the waterfront walkway to Nanaimo’s award winning downtown, featuring the renowned Maffeo Sutton Park and retail along Commercial Street, voted first place in the country in the “Great Streets” category by the Canadian Institute of Planners in 2011. Heading north, it’s only a three minute walk to the BC Ferries Departure Bay terminal, offering daily sailings across Georgia Strait to Vancouver. For overnight accommodation, the Buccaneer Motel, a favorite of divers, is right across the street making it an easy go to Nanaimo’s world famous wreck dive artificial reefs.
